What is Stendra?
Stendra is a medical drug which belongs to a class of medication called Phosphodiesterase(PDE) inhibitors. This medicine is used to treat sexual problems related to men such as erectile dysfunction. This medicine works by increasing the flow of blood in the peis so that erection is achieved and maintained for a longer period of time.
Stendra was approved by the US Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of erectile dysfunction on April 27, 2012. The Food and Drug Administration has approved Stendra in dose strengths of 50 mg, 100 mg, and 200 mg. Patients should take the medication as needed to achieve an erection and should be prescribed the lowest effective dose.

Stendra is available in the market with generic name Avanafil which belongs to Phosphodiesterase(PDE) inhibitors class of medication. Stendra works by increasing the blood flow in the penis during sexual stimulation. This medicine is not a cure to treat erectile dysfunction or increases your sexual desire. It increases the flow of blood in your blood vessels that travel in your penis causing erection.
How to use Stendra?
Stendra is available to us in a form of pill that must be taken by mouth with or without food as per your requirement but not more than 4 hours before sexual intercourse. The dosage and length of the treatment is based on your medical condition, response to the treatment and other medicine that you may be taking.
Swallow the tablet whole rather than chewing or crushing it in your mouth as it may release all the drug in your mouth which increases the risk of side effects. Discuss all the other medicines that you might be taking along with Avanafil for the same or different reasons. Follow the medical prescription carefully and inform your doctor in case of any exception or confusion.
Side effects of Stendra
Common side effects observed while medicating with Avanafil are flushing, dizziness, headache, or lightheadedness may occur. Inform your doctor if these conditions persist or get worse. There are some serious side effects which must be informed to the doctor right away if observed such as severe dizziness, fainting, chest/jaw/left arm pain, nausea, etc.
There are also some severe allergic reactions involved with these medications which require immediate medical attention if observed such as rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), trouble breathing, decrease or loss of hearing, sometimes with ringing in the ears, sudden decreased vision, including permanent blindness, in one or both eyes, prolonged erection, etc.
How long does stendra take to work?
Stendra is a kind of medicine that does not cause erection right away after its intake. Stendra is a kind of medicine that must be generally taken 15-30 minutes before Sexual intercourse. The working onset of Avanafil is about 15 minutes after its intake. Peak effect can be expected by an hour and the overall effect could last upto 6 hours.
Stendra does not signicantly delay time to cause ejaculation. However, you might experience some improvement when consume as prescribed by the doctor.
Interaction of Stendra with drugs.
