What is Erectile dysfunction?

Erectile dysfunction is basically a disorder found in men which could be a sign of physical or psychological condition. The symptoms associated with this disorder is found in men’s reproductive organ i.e. inability to keep an erection firmer and longer enough during a sexual activity.

What is Stendra?

Avanafil, sold under the brand name Stendra, is a medical drug which belongs to a class of medication called Phosphodiesterase(PDE) inhibitors. Stendra is used to treat sexual problems related to men such as erectile dysfunction. This medicine works by increasing the flow of blood in the penis so that erection is achieved and maintained for a longer period of time.

Sexually transmitted diseases (such as HIV, hepatitis B, gonorrhea, syphilis) are not protected by this drug. All sexual activities should be conducted using an effective barrier method (latex or polyurethane condom/dental dam). For more information, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Levitra is a medical drug sold under the generic name Vardenafil which belongs to a class of medication called phosphodiesterase (PDE) inhibitors. This medicine is used to treat erectile dysfunction in men. It works by increasing the blood flow to the penis which causes and maintains erection for a longer period during sexual activity. 

Sexually transmitted diseases (such as HIV, hepatitis B, gonorrhea, syphilis) are not protected by this drug as well. All sexual activities should be conducted using an effective barrier method (latex or polyurethane condom/dental dam). 

How to use?

Stendra and Levitra, both the medicines are available to us in a form of pill that must be taken by mouth as per your requirement but not more than 4 hours before sexual intercourse. The dosage and length of the treatment is based on your medical condition, response to the treatment and other medicine that you may be taking.

Swallow the tablet whole rather than chewing or crushing it in your mouth as it may release all the drug in your mouth which increases the risk of side effects. Your doctor may start you with a low dose which will increase gradually. Discuss all the other medicines that you might be taking along with Sildenafil Citrate for the same or different reasons. Follow the medical prescription carefully and inform your doctor in case of any exception or confusion.

Side effects:

Stendra and Levitra, both the drug carries similar side effects which are moderate or severe in nature such as severe dizziness, fainting, chest/jaw/left arm pain, nausea, rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), trouble breathing, severe dizziness, decrease or loss of hearing, sometimes with ringing in the ears, sudden decreased vision, including permanent blindness, in one or both eyes, prolonged erection, etc. Inform the doctor or get immediate medical attention if you notice such side effects.

Common side effects of Stendra

Common side effects observed while medicating with Stendra are flushing, dizziness, headache or lightheadedness may occur. Inform your doctor if these conditions persist or get worse. 

Common side effects of Levitra

Common side effects observed while medicating with Vardenafil are flushing, dizziness, upset stomach, headache, blurred vision sensitivity to light or trouble between blue and green color may occur. Inform your doctor if these conditions persist or get worse. 

Time to work:

Stendra is a kind of medicine that must be generally taken 15-30 minutes before sexual intercourse. The working onset of this medicine is about 15 minutes after it is administered. Peak effect can be expected by the user for around an hour and the potency of this medicine could help you last for 6 hours.

Levitra usually takes around an hour for its onset effect. The stimulation of penis is required with this medication to cause erection. The erection periods may show variation depending upon an individual age, weight, medical condition, etc. but overall the results are expected to last for 4-5 hours typically. One must usually take this medicine 30 minutes before sexual activity.

Stendra or Levitra, which is better?

As Stendra’s smaller 50mg dose starts working after 30 minutes, it’s also convenient for use before sex as needed. This makes Stendra the fastest-acting treatment for erectile dysfunction currently available on the market. After 15 minutes of taking the 100 mg and 200 mg strengths, effects can be seen.  

A Levitra dose of 20 mg is the highest available, while a Stendra dose of 100 mg and 200 mg are considered normal. As a result, Levitra clearly tends to be more potent and requires a lower dose than Stendra. In this case, you may expect lesser side effects and lesser dose to be taken for erectile dysfunction.

Both the drugs are effective treatment and well tolerated medicine. An individual must discuss all the pros and cons of both these medicine with a health professional and choose accordingly that which drug is better suitable and applicable in their situation.
